New Bloodborne Pathogens: The Complete Program
(35 min.) This training program is designed to provide a good understanding of bloodborne pathogens, common modes of their transmission, methods of prevention, and other pertinent information. A copy of your company's Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Program is available for your review upon request from your supervisor. Bloodborne Pathogens training is required if you can reasonably anticipate facing contact with blood and/or other potentially infectious materials as part of your job duties, you should receive additional training from your instructor or supervisor including an opportunity for interactive questions and answers.
Topics covered in this safety video include: bloodborne diseases including Hepatitis B (HBV), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Hepatitis C (HCV), modes of transmission, PPE, work practices, and engineering controls including Personal Protective Equipment: gloves, goggles, face shields, aprons, hygiene practices, decontamination and sterilization, sharps, needles, broken glassware, signs, labels, and color coding, regulated waste, emergency procedures, Hepatitis B vaccinations, recordkeeping, required information and training, and 14 required elements.
