Prevent Musculoskeletal Disorders - Safer Lifting
(17 min.) Reducing back injuries related to lifting is not about getting everyone to lift the same way; it's about getting everyone to lift in a less demanding way. Reducing your risk of injury when lifting is about doing each lift better in a way that minimizes the demands on your back. Your back isn't designed to tell you it is wearing out, or when you are performing a lift in a way that is hard on your back. Really good lifting happens when you use your body as close as possible to the way it is designed. Much of the demands of a lift are generated by the position of your upper body while you’re lifting.
