Driver's Daily Log
(8 min.) It is the Driver's Duty Status Record or Driver''s Daily Log where compliance or non-compliance with the "Hours of Service" limits of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation is recorded. Both the carrier and the driver must know what items are required on a driver's duty status record and how they are to be recorded.
Topics included in the safety video are: the graph grid with the remarks section, date, total miles driving, truck or tractor and trailer number, name of the carrier, carrie's main office address, place for the driver's signature for certification, 24 hour starting time, name of co-driver (if applicable), total hours (at the end of the grid), shipping document number(s) or name of shipper and commodity, FMCSR form MCS-59, duty status and additional information entries must be legible and in the driver's own handwriting, continuous line shall be drawn between the appropriate time markers to record the periods for off duty, sleeper berth, driving, and on duty not driving, driver's duty status record, and graph grid.
