Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) (Schools) (15 min.) The American Disabilities Act, or ADA, was signed into law on July 26, 1990. It's designed as a federal anti-discrimination statute to make both public and private entities accessible to the more than 40 million Americans across the country. The Act itself is divided into five sections or titles. Each title addresses a specific aspect of discrimination against the disabled. We'll take a look at each title, so you'll be able to understand the requirements and adapt your facilities to meets these requirements.

Topics covered in this safety video include: general discrimination provision, specific forms of discrimination prohibited, prohibiting state and local governments from discriminating in their employment policies and in the administration and delivery of their services or programs, requires places of public accommodation to make their facilities and services accessible to the disabled, accessibility concerns of telecommunications services, training programs, and drug testing.

Program comes with a CD-ROM of written materials, including test questions and answers. English title also includes PowerPoint presentation.
