Labor/Management Safety Committees

(16 min.) One of the most important aspects of safety, efficiency, or productivity is teamwork between labor and management. Safety committees composed of both labor and management are the most effective.

Topics covered in this safety video include: the goal of the committee, members of the committee, electing the chairperson of the committee, some of the problems that cause safety committees to be ineffective or counter-productive, the first meeting, safety training, training programs, written safety manuals or injury/illness prevention plans, identifying and correcting any potential workplace hazards that may exist, training for employees, supervisors and managers, safety and health recordkeeping, and safety counseling.
