How To Prevent Slips and Falls
(11 min.) First of all, it's important to understand that the vast majority of slips and falls occur because the person is not paying attention to where they are walking or what they're doing and they either trip on something or the floor surface is slippery. We can describe slips and falls as a dual cause accident. We say dual because there may be two causes.
Topics included in this safety video are: physical hazards that can cause slips and falls, the walk off mat, wax, spills, potential slip and fall hazards, walking up or down stairs, torn carpeting, damaged tread nosing, oily treads, dirty stairs, falls from ladders, broken or damaged rungs, the top two rungs, belt buckle, getting into and out of vehicles, jumping from trucks or other vehicles or equipment, proper footwear, authorized walking areas, walking over conveyors, boxes, pallets, or other materials, wet or slippery surfaces, Engineering, Education, and Enforcement.
