Disabled Vehicle, Accident Proc., and Truck Fires

(16 min.) This short program is simply a guide to help drivers avoid excessive down time, properly report disabled vehicles, and basic accident reporting procedures. We'll discuss the basics, but follow your company's procedures. If you have a question about the procedures, ask your supervisor for some answers.

Topics included in this safety video are: stop the vehicle if any unusual noise, inspect (vehicle, fire extinguisher, First Aid kit, and emergency reflectorized triangles), flares, stopping and safeguarding a disabled vehicle, stay inside the vehicle, if you're involved in an accident (notify your dispatcher immediately, brief description of the accident, exact location of the accident, whether there are any known injuries, if vehicle is disabled then let dispatcher know the details so emergency crews can be dispatched, get the names, addresses, telephone numbers, and insurance information from the people involved, ask to see their driver's license and insurance papers if at all possible, don't say anything except get the basic information and wait for the police, don't move the vehicle until instructed to by the police or qualified authorities), eliminating evidence, driver''s written reports, special notes, and vehicle fires.
