DOT Hazardous Materials Security

In an effort to fight terrorism and improve the security of hazardous materials, the Department of Transportation has added three major security requirements to their HAZMAT regulations. Companies that handle and ship hazardous materials must develop a "Security Plan," as well as give their employees "Security Awareness" and "In-Depth Security" training. MARCOM''s "Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Security Manual" assists facilities in complying with the DOT''s security requirements and helps them guard against potential security problems. The manual reviews transportation security issues and contains a "fill-in-the-blank" written Hazardous Materials Security Plan. y filling in the blanks in the "HAZMAT Security Plan" section of the manual, any facility can create a complete written plan that will meet the DOT''s requirements.
